Can I get the current computer boxes to act as thin clients? So I have a few questions if any of you are able to provide some assistance it would be most appreciated.ġ. Where I start falling short is how to go about ![]() While I do not confess to have much idea of alternative solutions I understand that using thin clients to replace the local boxes would resolve many of the issues and streamline the maintenance of the system. There 6 boxes at the office which connect locally over the network, and another 4 computers which connect to the server over the internet from various parts of the country. All of the boxes at the moment have been updated to Windows XP SP3 and the employees 'dial into the server' to use the companies proprietary ERP system, To you so I wont go into detail other than to say that the setup is no longer acceptable and needs updating. The problems with this are probably immediately apparent The office is arranged such that all the clients are using a variety of computer boxes that the company has collected over the years which connect to the server locally via Remote Desktop Connection. ![]() ![]() I should firstly say that I am not terribly knowledgeable about this subject matter so forgive me in advance. I am looking to revamp a setup of a small office of about 10 clients connecting to a server running a Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system.
